Community Choral Organization
Georgia Singers is a community choral organization with choirs for girls and women from grade 7 through college-age and beyond, under the direction of nationally recognized conductor, Dr. Franklin Green and accompanied by Mr. Rick Massengale. The choirs appeal to young women who are serious about singing and musicianship.
Choirs rehearse on Monday evenings at the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City. Georgia Singers is a highly select group of voices including older high school girls, college women and young adult women who rehearse from 7:30 until 9:15. A second choir, Bel Canto was formed to accommodate girls who are in grades 7-11 and are interested in developing their voices and progressing into Georgia Singers. They rehearse from 6:00 until 7:30.
Recent performances include: a joint concert with Collegium Vocale at Glenn Memorial Church at Emory University, a concert at Spivey Hall for the Georgia Conference of the American Choral Director’s Association, an Opening Night Concert at the Woodruff Arts Center for the opening of “A Christmas Carol” at the Alliance Theater; a holiday performance for the Concert Series of the First Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City.
